Alternative: Pouch packs

Tinplate is becoming scarcer and more expensive. The international supply crisis is dramatic (main producer China is closing steel plants for environmental reasons, domestic demand is preferred). Container bottlenecks exacerbate the problem.
For example, the price of tinplate per ton has risen by up to 50 % in each of the last three quarters (since Q4/2020). It climbed from US$ 70/t to currently US$ 200/t (Q2/2021). Prices of US$ 250/t are already being called for Q3/2021. Market experts expect a further drastic price increase by the beginning of 2022. This cost explosion inevitably makes the production of tinplate cans more expensive. As an importer, we are also feeling the effects. We would therefore like to recommend our interesting alternatives to the tin can: for example, in the tuna sector, our pouch packs as 1000 g goods. In other words, crunchy, tasty and easy-to-use tuna pieces in oil or water. The space-saving and easy-to-tear open, drain-proof packs are a real relief in the professional kitchen.

But we also offer more than cans when it comes to tomatoes: e.g. delicious tomato pulp from Italy in the resealable 10-kg BIB (Bag-in-Box) or tomato passata in the 1000-g carton.
