Organic pioneer Tegut is finally here: Yesterday, the food chain store celebrated its premiere in Munich (in the Elisenhof near the main train station): on 2000 square meters of sales area, with a great and wide selection of branded goods and its own brand in the equally wide and inviting aisles. Organic products have been in the foreground since 1982 (!), Tegut is considered a pioneer in the organic food sector. “Organic is an attitude”, says company spokesman Matthias Pusch. This also includes innovative concepts such as loose goods sales (e.g. pulses/nuts etc.), electronic price labelling, state-of-the-art checkout systems and less packaging. Tegut (270 stores, headquarters Fulda) generates about 28 % of its turnover with more than 3800 organic products. In 2019 net sales amounted to 1.069 (previous year: 1.035) billion euros. More about this soon.
